SILVER GIFTING And DIRECTIONAL PRAYER

I penned the last of a short series of silver essays in January 2005, "One Dozen Silver Investor Mistakes." At that time, I felt that I had already said everything important that needed to be said for the next several years. I signed off by saying: "Until we meet again." So, it's January 2011 and we meet again.
New silver ideas are a fairly rare occurrence. Just as the radio had to wait for the invention of electricity, sometimes ideas have to wait for their time to be ripe. With that short introduction, I'd like to introduce two new silver ideas whose time has come, SILVER GIFTING and DIRECTIONAL PRAYER.
SILVER GIFTING
With what you already know about silver, is there anyone in your life that should own silver but still doesn't? It could be a church, charity, worthy cause or favorite person(s). Now, what would you say if you could put a nice quantity of silver in their hands at almost NO COST to yourself?
Here's my thinking. Today, cash sitting in a bank is earning near-zero interest. Instead of leaving your money just sitting in a bank, you could use some of it to make a secret silver LOAN to the entity of your choice.
Here's exactly what I have already done. I had a bit of extra cash at the beginning of last October. In my state, you do not pay sales tax on silver purchases over $1,500. So, I went to a coin shop and bought a little over $1,500 worth of silver rounds. You might prefer the Eagles.
Anyhow, I wrote out this note and included it in the bag as a reminder for myself:
"Four years from now, on October 4, 2014, I will take the equivalent of $1,500 out of this silver bag and give it back to myself. (Remember, this was just a secret loan that the other party did not even know about.) "The remaining silver in excess of the $1,500 will be anonymously given to the specific charity that I have in mind."
For accountability purposes, I would encourage you to tell one other person what you are doing. That other person might even want to "join" your "loan pool" for mutual accountability and to increase its size. In my own case, and not that I need it, but I told my wife exactly what my promise was so that I'm not tempted to keep "the profit" should silver make a huge rise. I should be just fine with the silver that I already own.
You could use this form and just fill in these blanks:
_________ years from now on this date ______________ , I will remove my original loan amount of ____________ . I will give the remaining silver to _________________ . Signed ________________ Witnessed by _______________ Today's date ________________
What are the advantages of Silver Gifting? I think the idea has 5 strong points:
- The only way that is guaranteed to end the silver price suppression is the onset of the expected silver shortage. Silver Gifting will absolutely hasten the arrival of that day because more silver will be taken off the market; possibly considerably more depending on how well the idea catches on.
- Silver Gifting has the potential to greatly add to the number of silver advocates. If you are a recipient or expect to be a recipient, you are almost certainly, going to acquire a newfound interest in silver. Then, in their enthusiasm, the recipients are likely to tell others about silver. I know a woman that had almost no previous interest in silver. This past Christmas she was given 5 ounces of silver and now she's suddenly quite enthusiastic and wants to know more.
- By definition, new ideas generate their own interest. That's why companies continually put out new products and car companies put out new models. Look what the ETF did to widen the scope of silver investors. The Silver Gifting idea is so unique and workable that it has the potential to capture a lot of new attention, possibly from the media and beyond. At the very least, other silver advocates and newsletter writers will be inclined to pass this unique idea on to their readers. You have my permission!
- The time is still right. Several of the brightest minds in investing currently believe that silver will be among the best investments of the next decade. If you're a silver advocate, chances are that you think similarly and that silver still has considerable distance to run. The more it runs, the more your Silver Gift will appreciate. Where else has a similar, stellar opportunity ever presented itself for a person that wanted, but could not afford, a potentially very expensive gift?
- The Silver Gifting idea starts out with a loan, not an outright expense or loss to the purchaser. Because it is a loan, the purchaser has almost nothing to lose or give up. Providing silver doesn't drop in price over the next couple of years, the giver can expect to get ALL of his money back, reap the rewards of gift giving, and financially help out the recipient in a very significant way.
Folks, I bought 65 silver rounds on 10-4-2010 (about four months ago) for $1,501.50... @$23.10 each. As of today's knocked-down silver price of around $28, I already have a paper gain of $253.50 to give when the time comes. Had I not thought of the Silver Gifting idea four months ago, I never would have considered that purchase and the recipient would absolutely be $318.50 poorer. What a great feeling! What a great idea! And it didn't hardly cost me a thing! Furthermore, I expect "the profit" to grown all the more over time.
DIRECTIONAL PRAYER
The Lord's Prayer is short and sweet. It begins with: "Our Father, who art in heaven." And ends with the nearly forgotten phrase, "Deliver us from evil." Forgotten? I've been warming pews for more that 40 years and I've never once heard the concluding phrase, "Deliver us from evil," ever get any special attention. Normally, it's just been treated as a misplaced afterthought on our way to saying a final Amen! I suppose that in a relatively peaceful and prosperous America, it seemed irrelevant. But the irrelevant has now become relevant.
Historically, governments are usually more-or-less righteous, with this caveat: whenever it is convenient. And because America has had it so-good for so-long, our government has been conveniently righteous for some-time. But the times have changed. Our glory days are becoming fading memories. As a citizen of this country, I find myself being ashamed of several of the things that our country has done. Perhaps you've experienced similar feelings? Desperate governments have always resorted to desperate things. Once started on this path, the "desperate things" get progressively worse.
What have multiple silver investigations, investor letter writing campaigns and CFTC hearings have now demonstrated? That righteousness and justice in the world of silver have little chance of ever seeing the light of day. But silver is just one rallying point, the tip of the iceberg. It's much worse. There are hundreds of areas where government now seems to be completely and irresponsibly out-of-control to the detriment of its citizens, with no salvation in sight.
Here, it would be convenient, but it wouldn't be correct, to try to place all the blame at the feet of government. I'll not excuse them, but it's not entirely government's fault either. Long-time, registered voters, Joe and Jane Schmoe have also played their part. With their generationally-impaired, entitlement mentality, they're sure to vote their beliefs and make their wishes (demands) know to the politicians.
No matter how you look at it, we're painted into a corner from both sides with no rational way out.
If you jump out of an airplane and your parachute refuses to open, you've already gone past the point of trying to figure out who is to blame. Spending your time trying to figure out who is at fault with America is the same thing. Finger pointing is no longer the most important thing that you can do; it becomes an exercise in futility. Instead, figuring out what your next move should be in an impossible situation becomes your highest priority.
So, what exactly, should you do when you find yourself painted into a "silver" corner with no way out? Well, this isn't the first time this has happened to mankind and it's unlikely to be the last. Throughout history, in similar circumstances, people have repeatedly done the same thing. At their moment of greatest need, they have instinctively called upon the Lord for divine intervention. One of the universal themes of many of the survival stories that you hear about, read or see on TV is the calling for divine intervention. "Just before the moment of impact, I prayed that ………….and here I am today!" Because it's already part of the Lord's Prayer, when we petition Him to delivered from us from evil, we can be certain that we're not asking for anything too special, too difficult or out of order. It's the right thing to do.
So, I'm now using DIRECTIONAL PRAYER. Nothing technical. I'm just directing much more emphasis into the "deliver us from evil" part of the Lord's Prayer and making it a much higher priority. Quite frankly, I don't know what the Lord is doing about our situation. However, I can truthfully tell you this; praying in this way has given me a very strong sense of peace that I never came close to experiencing before. I think that this is presently the single most powerful thing that we can do to combat the apparent evil that is around us.
So how did the malfunctioning parachute situation turn out? A few years ago, Readers Digest ran a phenomenal story about a Soviet Era, MIG pilot that was forced to eject from his airplane at a very high altitude. Unfortunately, his chute didn't open. As I recall, the story went on to tell how the pilot hit a snow-covered spruce tree at precisely the correct spot. Miraculously, the tree limbs and deep snow broke his fall and saved his life!
In closing, there is something very unique to both of these potentially, very productive silver ideas. They're virtually free! In the case of the Silver Gifting, you might be giving up a negligible amount of interest income. And, in the case of Directional Prayer, pouring out your concerns to the Lord has always been free-of-charge. He's got a 1-800 number and he's always home! Both of these ideas work for me!
