SHAKE THOSE IVORY TOWER BLUES

Bang the drum for Benny boy
the economy is a wind-up toy,
powered by lots of lovely bucks.
He brings them in by groaning trucks.

Today he dumps them at our feet,
GOLDBUGS jump to the Benny beat,
while banksters wash in dollar bills,
and wise men head for the hills.

Benny gleams like a golden pot,
in deflation he won't be caught.
He's read the books on tight money,
he's gonna play it loose and funny.

Go, Benny, go, we're behind you,
all the faithful PM crew,
waiting for HUI to roar like a jet,
we've paid up big, made our bet.

Shake those ivory tower blues,
you ain't wearing Greenspan's shoes,
but in his footsteps you must walk,
show us the money, not just talk.
