Bernanke's testimony raises US Dollar but plunges gold & silver

Dr Bernnanke began giving his Congressional testimony at 10:30am ET. Almost immediatedly the US$ began strengthening --- as gold and silver suffer hits. Since his opening arguments, the US$ popped +0.42% to 82.80, while gold lost nearly $10 to $1282 as silver fell 40 cents to $19.62. Platinum also declined $6 to $1418 - but palladium was basically flat at $738.  And Wall Street stocks were ho-hum stable.
