Gold climbs as oil gains, physical demand picks up in Asia

London (Dec 3)  Gold today climbed as oil prices increased and on signs of more physical purchases from Asia.

 Gold rose 0.6 per cent to USD 1,205.53 an ounce. It fell 1.1 per cent yesterday, after reaching a one-month high of USD 1,221.43 the previous day. Silver also added 0.5 per cent to USD 16.55 an ounce.

 Brent crude advanced for the second time in three days, as a rout to the lowest since 2009 prompted by OPEC's failure to curb production  faltered.
