Gold Price Pushes Well Above $1,300 As Trump's Good Showing Spooks Financial Markets

November 8, 2016

New York (Nov 8)  Gold prices were trading UP around $35.00 an ounce higher just a short while ago, and have moved well above the key $1,300.00 level. Safe-haven demand is featured as U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump is doing well against Hillary Clinton as early election returns continue to come in. Trump and Hillary Clinton are neck-and-neck in Florida and Ohio--both critical states.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down over 400 points as the specter of a Trump victory is spooking traders and investors worldwide. That's bullish for safe-haven gold. December Comex gold was last up $30.00 at $1,305.00 an ounce.
