Gold price levels up $9 at Friday’s end, records weekly gain
New York (Dec 14) Comex February gold gained $8.9, or 0.6%, to settle at $1,481.2 per ounce. By 07:30 pm GMT, the US dollar index (DXY), which measures the US currency against a basket of six major currencies, went down by 0.23% to 97.17.
It is worth noting that the US and China agreed on Friday to an initial trade deal that would reduce tariffs between the two countries.
