Silver futures rise 0.37% on global cues

September 15, 2014

New Delhi-India (Sept 15)  Silver prices edged higher by 0.37 per cent to Rs 41,460 per kg in futures trade today after speculators enlarged positions on a firming trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December was up by Rs 151, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 41,460 per kg in a business turnover of 2,160 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in silver prices at futures trade to a firming trend in the precious metals overseas  on speculation that reduced prices may spur purchases before the Federal Reserve begins a two-day policy meeting.

Meanwhile, silver traded 0.20 percent higher at $18.67 an ounce in Singapore.
