Gold Price Slips Below Unchanged as Outside Markets Turn Bearish
New York (Jun 2) Gold prices are trading modestly lower in late-morning dealings Thursday, and have given up slight early gains. The key outside markets have moved into a negative posture for the precious metals today, as the U.S. dollar index has pushed above unchanged and is near its daily high. Meantime, Nymex crude oil futures prices are trading lower on the day. It's likely trading activity will be quieter as the day progresses, ahead of the important U.S.
Jobs report due out Friday morning. August gold was last down $1.90 an ounce at $1,212.80.
Spot Silver steady at $16.01, while Platinum hammered down $15 to $958...and Palladium trounced more than 2% down to $636.
