Gold & silver prices fall
Kathmandu-Nepal (Apr 11) Gold and silver prices declined by Rs 100 and Rs 15 per tola, respectively, in the week from April 5 to 10. The market opened on Sunday with gold price fixed at Rs 51,600 per tola. The price of the yellow metal on Monday increased by Rs 500 per tola and was traded at Rs 52,100 per tola and remained unchanged on Tuesday. The bullion price, on Wednesday, dipped by Rs 100 per tola and was fixed at Rs 52,000 per tola. On Thursday, gold price again plunged by Rs 500 per tola in a single day to settle at Rs 51,500 per tola and remained unchanged on Friday — the last trading day of the week. Similarly, the price of silver also slumped by Rs 15 per tola during the six trading days of the week. Silver was traded at Rs 715 per tola on Sunday — the first trading day of the week. Price of the white metal, however, increased by five rupees per tola on Monday to be fixed at Rs 720 per tola and remained the same on Tuesday. On Wednesday, silver price fell by five rupees per tola and was traded at Rs 715 per tola. Continuing its freefall, silver price again plunged by Rs 15 per tola on Thursday and remained unchanged on Friday to settle the week’s trading at Rs 700 per tola.
