World stock markets weaker to start trading week

London (Aug 31)  Gold prices are weaker in early U.S. trading. Prices Are trading well down from last week's high and the Bears have the near-term technical advantage.
On this last trading day of the month, China's Shanghai stock index was down just short of 1% Monday. Reports said China's central bank was not intervening to buy domestic shares today. Consequently, Shanghai Stock Index is down.
