Gold Price Slips Below Unchanged as Key Outside Markets Turn Bearish
New York (Oct 20) Gold has come under modest selling pressure in late-morning price action Thursday. The yellow metal had been holding slight gains overnight and in early U.S. trading. However, the important "outside markets" have moved into a bearish daily posture for the precious metals markets. The U.S. dollar index is higher and trading near its daily high, while Nymex crude oil prices are lower and trading near their daily low. December gold was last down $2.70 an ounce at $1,267.20.
Spot Platinum plunges $14 to $933 while spot silver loses more than 1% sliding to $17.55.
