Monday Sector Laggards: Precious Metals, Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Stocks

New York (Mar 9)  In trading on Monday, precious metals shares were relative laggards, down on the day by about 3.8%.  Helping drag down the group were shares of Banro Corporation (BAA), down about 8.5% and shares of Tanzanian Royalty Exploration (TRX) off about 8.3% on the day. At noon EST the HUI Index was already down more than 3% to 161 with indications it might try to retest Nov 2014 low at 150.

Also lagging the market Monday are oil & gas exploration & production shares, down on the day by about 1.3% as a group, led down by Hercules Offshore (HERO), trading lower by about 9.3% and Goodrich Petroleum (GDP), trading lower by about 8.7%.
