Friday Sector Laggards: Precious Metals, Construction Stocks

sAN fRANCISCO (fEB 17)  In trading on Friday, precious metals shares were relative laggards, down on the day by about 2%. Helping drag down the group were shares of Yamana Gold ( AUY ), off about 9.2% and shares of Hudbay Minerals ( HBM ) off about 7.4% on the day.

Also lagging the market Friday are construction shares, down on the day by about 1.7% as a group, led down by Granite Construction ( GVA ), trading lower by about 6.7% and Mastec ( MTZ ), trading lower by about 5.5%.
