Gold prices up 1.7% in week
New York (Mar 25) Gold prices increased during the week that ended Friday 24 March, for the second consecutive week. The price of the precious metal went up by around 1.7% to $1,243 per ounce, compared to $1,229.80 per ounce by the end of the week before.
Meanwhile, the USD index, which measures the value of the United States Dollar relative to a basket of six major currencies, remained stable at the level of 99.77 points.
It is worth noting that gold prices went up last week by 2.4% to $1,229.80 per ounce, compared to $1,200.70 per ounce by the end the previous week.
