De-Dollarization and the Flight to Gold

April 25, 2023

In this video, Peter St Onge discusses the rapid de-dollarization that is currently taking place. He argues that the dollar has already suffered a "stunning collapse," with its share of global reserves falling from 73% in 2001 to just 47% in 2021. Recent sanctions have accelerated this trend, such as the US freezing 300 billion in Russian Central Bank dollars. As a result, countries worldwide are moving away from the dollar and towards alternative stores of value, such as gold and the euro.
